On November 21st 2022, the inaugural light train of Bybanen Line 2 will make it's way through the Løvstakken tunnel, which is highly anticipated by everyone in Bergen. Not much later, in early 2023, the emergency tunnel which serves as a pedestrian/cyclist tunnel will open for the public. Did we mention that the Bergen will be the home of Europe's longest and the world's second longest pedestrian and cyclist tunnel?
The handover of Løvstakken project marks a great milestone in Bybanen Byggetrinn 4, which is now ready to connect two of the most densely populated areas in Bergen together in a new way. Improved mobility and a significant reduction in travel time to one of the largest working places in Bergen, the Haukeland University Hospital, will be a welcome addition to the city's public infrastructure.
The civil works executed by Marti in the area surrounding the tunnel entrance in Fyllingsdalen are also an important part of the improved public infrastructure.
The atmosphere of cooperation between Marti, the client Bybanen Utbygging and the subcontractors has been a recipe for success during the last 45 months, where both sides of the table have been pragmatic and solution oriented in an amicable manner.
Everyone at Marti involved in the Løvstakken project are proud of the achievement and now starts to look forward to the next demanding project.
